Draycott & Hanbury Cricket Club has a long and proud history in local cricket. We require all junior members to uphold the highest standards of courteous behaviour and fair play.
The club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its members. We expect all participants to demonstrate respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others.
What We Expect From You
As a junior member, you must:
- Play with integrity: Play within the laws and spirit of the game and treat opponents with respect
- Accept officiating decisions: Respect umpires and their decisions without argument
- Show inclusivity: Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of gender, ability, cultural background or religion
- Demonstrate courtesy: Be polite to all club members and visitors
- Honour commitments: Attend training and matches punctually, or notify your coaches/managers if you cannot attend
- Use appropriate equipment: Wear suitable protective gear as directed by your coaches
- Pay promptly: Settle training and match fees without delay
Prohibited Behaviour
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Tobacco and vaping: No smoking or vaping on club premises or while representing the club
- Alcohol: No alcohol consumption on club premises or while representing the club
- Drugs: No illegal substances at any time
- Bullying: Any form of bullying, harassment or intimidation
- Discrimination: Any discriminatory language or behaviour
- Cheating: Any form of cheating or unsporting behaviour
Representing the Club
When you represent Draycott & Hanbury Cricket Club, you are an ambassador for the club. This means:
- Wearing club kit correctly and with pride
- Behaving respectfully at all venues
- Being a good sport whether winning or losing
- Thanking opponents, officials, and hosts after matches
- Looking after club equipment and facilities
What Happens If You Break the Rules?
Breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in:
- A verbal warning from your coach or team manager
- A written warning to you and your parents
- Temporary suspension from training or matches
- In serious cases, exclusion from the club
The club aims to help young people learn from mistakes and improve their behaviour. However, repeated or serious breaches will be dealt with firmly.
